David joined DRAW in 2016, bringing with him a burgeoning portfolio of experience ranging from skyscrapers to civic projects to private residences. His creative and technical skills have earned his projects numerous design awards over the years at Local, Regional and National levels. His work has been published in architectural and technical books as well as in National and International publications.
David is a recognized expert in high-performance building design. A certified Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider (BECxP), David is the founding and active Chairman of the Building Enclosure Council of Kansas City, which he established in 2008. Among other affiliations, David is also a member of the National Institute of Building Science, and serves as an Advisory Group Member on the American Institute of Architects National - Committee on the Environment (COTE).
David has had the opportunity to work on projects with renowned architectural firms Foster + Partners of London, Kohn Pederson Fox, and Thomas Phifer + Partners. He has lived and practiced in New York City, Phoenix, Dallas and Kansas City and is a graduate of Kansas State University.

- David is a self-described workaholic. We should be concerned about this, but we’ve come to recognize that his addiction to work is less an addiction to “work” and more an addiction to design. - A natural athlete, David once completed a Half Ironman Triathlon. When he’s not daydreaming about his alternate-reality life as a baseball player, he lives vicariously through his favorite home team, the world champion KC Royals.
- David was a classmate of actor Paul Rudd.
- Drawn to perfection, David gives an approving nod to the work of Donald Judd, fine dining, and the perfect simplicity of nights spent enjoying beers in the company of friends and family.
