Located within the City of Kansas City, MO’s Vehicle Impound Facility Campus, this Police Facility centralizes the collection and processing of evidence gathered from vehicles involved in crimes. It includes a laboratory, office space, training space, and seven flexible work bays that can handle vehicles as large as a semi trailer. It is constructed of highly durable materials — cast in place concrete with a steel structure, it is sheathed in corrugated zinc. The building includes a distinctive 2,500 square foot enclosed exterior area, to protect cars from evidence deterioration before they admitted to the work areas. The design features many resource efficient features including high insulation values, solar shading, water saving plumbing fixtures and an enhanced mechanical system.
